Protest from the Anti Fur Society of Turkey: 'Blood-Free Store Window Displays' Fur Should Stay Where it Belongs, on the Animal it Came From

Protest from the Anti Fur Society of Turkey: 'Blood-Free Store Window Displays' Since 2003, the Anti Fur Society of Turkey has been trying to explain why fur is an unnecessary luxury consumer item and the bloody methods used to obtain it. Through www.kurkehayir.gen.tr (and our English website: http://www.kurkehayir.gen.tr/en.htm) we reveal the brutality of fur, which is marketed as an attractive consumer item. We try to gain public awareness about the fur industry not only from an animal rights perspective, but also concerning the fur industries' irreversible damages to the natural environment, the media's false portrayal of the fur industry, and the fashion industries' mislabeling of fur garments in response to the universal negative responses to fur. Thus, we are now activating our 'Blood-Free Store Window Displays' project in response to the fashion designers that are reluctant to stop using fur in their creations and the store/boutique owners that are reluctant to stop selling clothing and accessories consisting of fur. The project's primary target is for small to midsize clothing stores and boutiques to display the Anti Fur Society of Turkey's stickers with Anti-Fur slogans in visible locations of stores/boutiques and to support their fight against fur. Another successful aspect of the 'Blood-Free Store Window Displays' project will be the support from both Turkish and International fur-free industries. The Anti Fur Society of Turkey will distribute letters to stores and boutiques requesting their support to be free of fur, and also send information packages describing the 'Blood-Free Store Window Displays' project. Supporters will be announced, with individual permission, on the Anti Fur Society of Turkey's website. Through this, the Anti Fur Society of Turkey will have opportunity to be closer in achieving one of its main goals: to increase public awareness.
